Summary of Role:
Raytheon UK are a leading International Defence & Security prime and are looking for a Training Transformation Delivery Lead to support their rapidly expanding portfolio of training services.
The Training Transformation Delivery Lead will be accountable for all engineering resources, programme delivery and development of training solutions across the Raytheon UK training portfolio. You will report to the Head of Engineering for the Cyber, Space, and Training (CST) Business and support the Raytheon UK Training Transformation Services (TTS) Business Lead. In this role you will be a key contributor and member of both the Engineering Leadership Team and the TTS Management Team.
You will lead the technical response of bids and proposals to grow the TTS business and support the transition of successful bids into executable development programmes, and develop the future training capabilities, methodologies and technologies. This will require experience in the development of complex training solutions using modern, leading edge solutions, methods, and tools.
The role can be based at any of Raytheon’s main sites or at home. Regardless of main base location the successful candidate will need to travel across the UK to Raytheon and customer sites.
Main Duties:

Reporting to the CST Head of Engineering, and the TTS Business Lead for all aspects of engineering and product development activity across the TTS business. This shall include:

  • Line management of engineers and training specialists across the Mission Area, with a small group of direct reports.
  • Delivery of existing, committed programmes
  • Bid support and resource deployment for all TTS Opportunities
  • Capability development through internal and external funded R&D

Act as the point of escalation, across TTS, for all engineering and training matters ensuring that engineering and training efforts are coordinated to provide optimum value for the business.
Own and maintain the Technology Roadmaps and investment cases.
Oversee the management, development and coordination of the engineering capability and performance of the TTS engineering and training team to help create and deliver the business growth strategy and the engineering strategy.
To be accountable for the overall engineering budget for TTS, Capability and Capacity Metrics (Workload Planning), and Technology Roadmaps.
Interface with other members of the Engineering Management Team, TTS Leadership Team, Raytheon US (and other International affiliates) to continue to improve the Raytheon UK Engineering Function as a highly capable, professional and respected part of Raytheon UK.

Candidate Requirements:
While this role sits within the engineering function, the key competencies and experience of the successful candidate are focussed on development on training:
Leadership experience, including but not limited to the following:
Demonstrated competency for strategic thinking and thought leadership with strong relationship management with customers, suppliers and industry bodies.
Successfully developed and implemented training solutions in established and new environments using new and emerging training technologies.
Extensive experience in building and managing multi-discipline, high-performance teams (cross-functional experience highly desirable).
Extensive experience in delivery of programmes across training and/or engineering disciplines.
Building / Coaching / Mentoring of business leaders and talent.
Managed financial resources to meet goals and multiple schedules.
Demonstrated competency in relating efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
Proven ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team and ability to direct large teams to meet tight deadlines.
Proven strategic planning and execution experience.
Demonstrable experience in driving change management programmes through to success.

Experience within UK Defence industry.
Experience in Military Training.
Experience in live, virtual, constructive and gaming (LVC-G) training and simulation systems.
Political and customer / stakeholder relationships within UK / US defence industry.
Experience managing in a complex International Logistics and Licencing environment.
Member of a relevant Engineering / Training Professional Institution.
Must be willing and eligible to hold SC security clearance and possibly obtain DV clearance if required.
