We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Messaging Implementation Engineer to join our Global CAS Team. This role will be fully remote.

Collins Aerospace Connected Aviation Systems (CAS) is seeking an Engineer to join our Messaging Implementation team. Our Networks Services organisation supports over 1,500 aviation customers transmitting over 75 million messages per day across the aviation community. We are looking for a talented individual to manage and configure our global private network switches while providing outstanding customer service and support. They will support our Messaging Implementations team with implementing / modifying / configuring / testing / documenting airline middleware messaging connections and routing between Collins Aerospace – CAS airline messaging services and customer end systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Simultaneously manage multiple customer facing implementation and migration projects/tasks.
  • Partner with the operations team to troubleshoot customer issues and provide written responses to questions
  • Provide on-call support on a rotating basis, once acclimated to the job responsibilities.
  • Provide technical advice to internal Sales, Product and Service Delivery teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organisation, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in an international, cross-functional team environment including occasional off-hours implementation tasks and meetings across Americas, Europe and Asia.
  • Ability to support a 24×7 rotating on-call schedule will be required in this position.
  • Initial availability for training during US and/or European business hours (over the first 6-12 months in the position)
  • Occasional travel, as needed

Desired Experience:

  • Some experience with messaging systems / protocols / messaging formats.
  • Experience with IBM Websphere MQ (MQSeries) middleware messaging and queuing.
  • Software development experience .
  • Experience with Commercial Airline / Global Distribution Service operational messaging.
  • Network and/or routing configuration experience.
