About The Team

Our Engineering teams build the technologies and business-focused products that solve our clients’ business problems in a scalable and comprehensive way. The successful candidate will be part of the Financial Services Engineering team, which is at the centre of the business’ financial crime prevention and compliance activity.

What You will be doing:

The role involves:

  • Work as part of an Agile Scrum team to ensure the correct approach to a full development lifecycle is being planned, committed to and delivered for each sprint
  • Translate business and non-functional requirements into a technical design, thereby working closely with the product owner and architects.
  • Take a hands-on approach in building and extending our Financial Crime prevention Applications, including development, configuration, interfacing, performance tuning and test automation. Troubleshoot and solve technical problems efficiently as they arise.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and technical support of released Applications, demonstrating complete follow-through and closure on problems.
  • Help drive ongoing improvements to our development, automated testing and continuous integration processes.

    Essential skills:
  • Experience in software development: having successfully mastered and applied one or more programming/scripting languages.
  • Working experience with using SQL
  • Experience of using UNIX (Linux) and Windows operating systems.
  • Strong communication skills (English), both written and oral
  • Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).

    Desirable skills:
  • Good understanding of the complete software creation lifecycle
  • Working experience in shell scripting (eg. Bash, Windows Batch), XML based languages experience (e.g. XPath, XSLT) or programming languages (e.g. Javascript, Java, Groovy, Python)
  • Basic knowledge of Docker
  • Familiarity with testing tools and web browser automation tools (e.g. JUnit, CasperJS, Selenium, Cucumber) and/or continuous integration tools (eg. Apache ANT, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins)
