Your new role
To manage and maintain the in-house network and storage infrastructure.
To successfully manage support and service delivery, ensuring the availability of mission critical services, the provision of 3rd line technical support and the development and maintenance of corporate standards.
To ensure the operation, maintenance, backup, and business continuity / DR of IT systems.
To carry out on the job training where necessary and assist with the generation of morale and motivation within the department.
You will be involved in decision-making regarding the IT Services development carried out within the business. You will manage and support the infrastructure systems, ensuring adherence to standards and procedures
Continuous evaluation of the groups IT systems.
Management of key IT projects, and IT involvement in business projects.
To ensure that IT systems are operational and available to the Business.
To remain fully competent in the chosen operating systems.
To design IT standards and procedures for use within IT Services.
To monitor standards and procedures used within IT Services.
To analyse processes and procedures to identify and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency and quality System design and specification.
Evaluation of new products upgrades and patches.
To provide support during handover periods, including handover to support personnel, including production of documentation.
To develop appropriate skills within the Infrastructure team.
To provide support for Software Delivery and IT Support staff.
To carry out regular capacity and performance monitoring and reporting of key systems.
To maintain expert knowledge of IT futures (e.g., strategy for future operating systems / hardware etc.).
To ensure that all hardware and software asset management is clearly documented.
To maintain full awareness of and conformance to the Risk Management Framework including but not limited to the Information Security and Data Governance supporting frameworks.
Good organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently of direct supervision, as well as part of a team and manage own workload
Maintain the highest standard of integrity in all business relationships
CISCO network technologies (ASA, FTD, ISE, Meraki, ACI, DNA centre)
DNS / DHCP/ TCP IP Network Services & protocols
Cloud technologies (AWS / Azure)
VMware Virtualisation technologies (ESXi & vSphere) V6 and above
Active Directory Domain Services
Windows Server 2008R2/2012/2016
Commvault backup and recovery platform
