Department Information
The People Operations teams provide administrative and advisory support to our UK Business and through our ‘service pledge’ underpin our overall People Strategy and Vision. Customer centric, we are consistently looking for ways to exceed expectations of our people across the business with the service we deliver.

Context of role
As a Senior HR Assistant of the Right to Work team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Firm’s Right to Work (RTW) responsibilities and visa processes within People Operations are followed, maintained and kept compliant.

You will take ownership and act as a key contact for all cases handled, taking all necessary actions and maintaining records to ensure we meet our statutory obligations. You will work closely with other members of the People Operations teams, taking expert advice from specialists as needed.

You will be perceived as proactive, credible and accountable.

Your focus will be on working as part of the team to exceed customer expectations. You will be responsible for delivering high quality and consistent service delivery across all processes. Meeting, and where possible exceeding, our Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) is critical to our success and needs to be achieved in parallel with delivering a high-quality service.

Role and Responsibilities
The role has the following key responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for carrying out and reviewing Right to Works checks for prospective and current employees – ensuring these are carried out in line with Home Office requirements.

  • Working alongside our Immigration team to manage the end to end administration process of all allocated visa applications, answering or escalating where appropriate, any questions from the applicant, business or Immigration team.

  • Allocating and responding to a high volume of queries from employees and the business regarding Right to Work, the internal visa application process and the Firm’s policy.

  • You will be responsible for creating and maintaining compliance for employees of the Firm in line with immigration legislation and GDPR requirements.

  • You will be responsible for updating HR records to ensure information is recorded accurately and that all legal requirements are met.

  • Developing strong and enduring relationships with key stakeholders – including Recruitment, HR Business Partners, Performance Leads and Immigration.

  • Utilising available training and personal research to keep up to date with changes to processes and legislation.

  • Taking a commercial, considered stance to risk assessment linking in with the compliance teams and escalating issues as appropriate to the Team Leader before escalation to the relevant subject matter experts.

  • Take personal responsibility to adhere to our ISO standards

Experience, Qualification and Skills
The successful candidate is likely to have/be able to demonstrate:

  • An awareness and understanding of UK employers’ responsibilities to prevent illegal working and the UK immigration system;
  • Some experience in a compliance based role;
  • An ability to build relationships and communicate with people at all levels;
  • High levels of resilience, with experience of working in a highly pressurised client centric environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal;
  • The ability to influence and confidently negotiate at all levels;
  • Good organisational, literacy and numeracy skills;
  • The ability to prioritise workloads under a high pressure, autonomous environment;
  • A good degree of IT office proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc and SAP or equivalent HR system.
