What you will be doing (role duties and responsibilities)
We are seeking a Programme Security Manager to join our Space Systems Business area. You will report to the Head of Information Assurance, Risk and Compliance for Space Systems and will be responsible for ensuring the programme of space projects is sufficiently secure. This includes liaising with the BAE Systems Applied Intelligence security function on project specific personnel and physical security aspects for the development eco-system, working with the sub-contract manager to ensure security in the supply chain, and identifying through life programme and operational risk, considering the current and future client security requirements and measures.
Product Security Architects and Engineers will focus on the product security. This Programme Security Manager role is about creating the environments in which the Space Systems teams can work securely and effectively across different levels of security classifications, across different sites and on different networks whilst managing security risk.
What we are looking for (skills and experience)
We are looking for ambitious, high-calibre people with the following characteristics:
- Highly motivated with a strong background in Project / Programme Security
- A good understanding of current cyber and operational security trends and threats
- Experience of successfully designing and implementing security controls
- Awareness of Identity and Access Management principles
- Effective business acumen and an understanding of the cyber security challenges faced by organisations
- Ability to articulate and pitch security advice, often at a technical level, directly to key customer stakeholders
- Good inter-personal skills; able to work well in a dynamic, collaborative team
- A recognised Cyber Security Qualification (CISSP, CISM, CCP, and CEH) and/or ICT or Information System Qualifications (e.g. ITIL, CCNP)
- Demonstrable experience of identifying security risk and familiarity with common control frameworks, defining and delivering security transformation programmes – from business cases through to technical implementation, and/or designing and delivering security operations capabilities and processes
- Space sector experience
- Defence industry experience
