Collins Aerospace Systems, part of Raytheon Technologies, has a brand new opening within our Actuation business and the Nacelles and Composites (NASCOM) Value Stream. You will join as a Finance Business Partner supporting the NASCOM Actuation sites at Wolverhampton and Banbury reporting to the NASCOM Finance Director. This is a critical role within the Value Stream and the successful candidate should also be looking to further their career in Finance within the team and the division.
The successful candidate can be based at either of our Wolverhampton or Banbury site as there will be a requirement to be present on occasion in both sites. Occasional homeworking will also be permitted.
Role Summary/ Purpose:
A high profile role within the Actuation UK NASCOM finance team overseeing full P&L management, balance sheet controls and compliance and cash performance within the NASCOM Value Stream based across Wolverhampton and Banbury.
Reporting into the FD of the Value Stream, the successful candidate will work closely with the Operations and Engineering leads to execute and monitor sales and profitability to plan and ensure cost reduction initiatives are aligned to our financial targets. Analysis is including, and not limited to, productivity, efficiency, scrap, pricing and cost controls.
Principle Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Through the provision of robust financial modelling and sound financial advice the individual will be the finance champion to the IPT team responsible for successful delivery of any NPI programs. Partnering with various functions such as; Engineering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing Engineering etc to ensure robust financial controls are in place, any financial risks and opportunities are understood and managed through the change board process.
Commercial Bid Support:
Providing strategic and decision making support to the business development team as required. Involving proactive, upfront engagement in the bidding process, ensuring financials are understood and accurately represented in the bid model, in terms of both NRC’s and RC’s and financial assumptions are clearly documented, risks and opportunities identified with contingencies managed accordingly.
Working with local teams to develop, direct and drive a cost reduction mindset throughout the value stream. Support with the identification, quantification and ongoing tracking of initiatives to enable successful delivery of commitments. Responsibility for the ongoing development, maintenance and delivery of platform cost curves for all major platforms. Provide robust financial leadership in the development of any new projects utilising the passport gated process. Providing support to the Value Stream Director and FD with regards to the identification, development and execution of product family/platform strategies that support overall strategic goals.
Controls & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to internal financial control policies and procedures consistent with US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, international accounting standards and all applicable international legal and statutory requirements are in place. Ensure compliance with all accounting policies, procedures and financial reporting timetables and any value stream specific compliance requirements. Develop and maintain suitable financial risk trackers and leading indicators identifying potential balance sheet exposures and drive mitigation activities.
Directly manage the day to day tasking, coaching and development of a team of Finance Analysts that support the value stream, ensuring all requirements are delivered to the correct standard.
Indirectly managing and leveraging relationships with the wider finance team. Be part of a highly performing and engaged team, whilst leading and developing initiatives promoting and shaping a wider best in class finance organisation. Participate in functional development discussions and proactively take actions to improve employee engagement and satisfaction as measured through pulse.
Essential Experience & Qualities
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
- Experience of PQE across Industrial, Product or FMCG sectors
- Knowledge of UK, US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley legislation
- Proactive and self-motivated with the determination to succeed
- An operational/commercial bias, with good understanding of business cases
- Ability to present confidently in front of senior management
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with SAP
- Effective decision maker and financial business partner
- Ability to influence and motivate management and financial colleagues.
- Effective communicator at all levels
