BAE Systems Applied Intelligence delivers complex projects to international customers around the world. We are currently recruiting for programmes in the UK, Middle East and Asia Pac regions. We deliver complex, world leading capabilities in Cyber Security and require highly skilled, motivated and enthusiastic individuals in a variety of roles across our delivery teams. This role will predominately be located within either our Guildford or Leeds sites, with the potential of travel to the Middle East during the project.
What you’ll be doing
Are you passionate about working with innovative technology and assuring the design and engineering on projects delivering solutions that are central to our customer’s missions? Join BAE Systems as a Test Engineer.
You’ll be working with our global teams and be responsible for ensuring that the solution meets its functional and non-functional requirements, and the correct application of relevant technologies, processes and tool chains. You will need to define innovative solutions to problems, underpinned by robust delivery and engineering methods.
You will enjoy working as part of a team, working with other engineers to get the best out of the team, allowing everyone to contribute. You will be an excellent communicator both internally within your project, as well as externally to senior customer stakeholders to facilitate decision making and co-ordinate design activities with related teams.
What we’re looking for
Test engineering experience in a high-performance secure environment from requirements and the full software lifecycle through to acceptance. Experience designing innovative solutions to meet challenging requirements where reference designs are not sufficient.
Essential skills and knowledge:
- Through life engineering of complex IT solutions covering applications and operational aspects
- Ability to analyse and understand existing designs and requirements
- Experience of interacting and presenting to both internal and external stakeholders to understand, influence and shape requirements and solution approaches
- Experience in the complete development lifecycle using a range of methodologies
- Extensive experience in system testing
- Extensive experience in test automation
- Extensive experience in manual testing
- Ability to decompose requirements and formulate appropriate tests
- Experience in the use of Jira
- Desire to learn new technologies and skills
- Ability to run a team and mentor team members.
Desirable skills and knowledge:
- Extensive experience in automated build and test technologies such as Jenkins/GIT
