Goodrich Actuation Systems Limited, Stafford Road, Wolverhampton, WV10 7EHCollins Aerospace Systems, part of Raytheon Technologies, is on the lookout for a Production Control Lead to join the team in Wolverhampton. The role reports to the Materials Manager and is responsible for the Production Control functional team across the High Lift Value Stream (Machining).

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Heading team of Production Controllers across assembly and test (AT) and machining areas within the Highlift VS and accountable for business performance in line with customer expectations.
  • Reports are responsible for giving all day-to-day activity guidance to;
    • Kitting
    • Operations
    • Final Verification
    • Packing/Shipping
  • Responsible for driving escalating supply issues (impacting both financial performance and customer deliveries) and supporting supply chain commitment improvement.
  • Also for reporting to site leadership team on performance and risk/opportunities and capturing turn backs and driving the corrective actions associated to them
  • Responsible for value chain LE
  • Coach & Develop a team who are able to support and work across departments both AT & Machining sites
  • Manage a development strategy where successors are identified and working towards a “ready now” status in all plants
  • Be the primary point of contact for customer delivery assurance queries from customer facing functions
  • Represent wider PC working with the Site Material/Production Planning Leadership & SIOP to ensure MPS supported by sufficient SBU capacity & CAPEX plan
  • Represent wider PC working with Site Material Planning team to ensure inventory targets are delivered
  • Accountable for delivering customer OTIF to ACE gold status

Key Deliverables:

  • LoB Shortage escalation management to SLT
  • OTIF of all VS programs
  • MPS adherence: OE, NPI and Spares
  • SIOP approval
  • Approve schedule to capacity
  • Identify capacity gaps – CAPEX approval to close
  • Inventory control (forecast)
  • Manage excess and obsolete with PM’s & GM’s
  • Inventory plan delivery
  • Approve master data changes
  • Planned part changes
  • SIOP approval linked to P&L of Wolves site
  • -4week SC delivery assurance (1 week material availability / in line with range of cover profiles)
  • Production planning
  • Output – Work Order Execution monitoring and escalating deviations
  • OTIF to customer
  • Delivery to customer – Returns & Key program deliverables

Personal attributes & qualification requirements:

  • APICS CPIM certification desired, or a willing to undertake within 12 months of taking role
  • Experience and demonstrated success within a planning role
  • SLT exposure/presence
  • High level of communication and influencing skills, in order to align all linked functions to support production plan set by the production control team
  • Very good leadership skills required to support the team and ensure performance is to the highest level

Direct reports team responsibilities include:

  • Work with supply chain team to effectively management of the escalation process for both internal and external supply.
  • Manage Lines of Balance for each Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) within their responsibility.
  • Develop production and kitting plans.
  • Validate schedule to capacity.
  • Manage work order release in line with MPS requirement.
  • Inventory control/accuracy.
  • Manage escalation process when a sustained deviation from plan occurs.
  • Management of Engineering change introduction.
  • Management of SAP inventory transactions in line with agreed processes.
  • Working with operators, production schedules, materials and equipment to ensure on time in full delivery to all Customers.
  • Communication of all customer delivery commitments.
