Your new organisation will be a multi-academy trust with schools based in West and South Yorkshire. As they bolster their IT department, they are seeking an IT Security Network Administrator to provide a robust level of network security for all users whilst delivering a cyber secure and safe network. Using your Cyber Security expertise and analytics skills, you’ll be tasked with strengthening the Trustâ€™s network security, monitoring and analysing the network security, assessing alarms and pre-empting issues using cyber security tools and devices.
Working closely with the IT and Infrastructure team, you’ll monitor the network systems, detect security threats (events), analyse and assess alarms, report on threats, intrusion attempts and false alarms, either resolving or escalating issues. You’ll administer information security software controls alongside preventing, detecting and responding to threats with Azure Security and compliance. Strengthening the network, you’ll identify potential weaknesses and implement measures in collaboration with the Network Administrators and Trust IT Manager. You’ll support new security projects and initiatives, providing assistance and training as required. You’ll maintain Network Access Control, ensuring restrictions are in place for authorised devices and compliant policies, whilst setting up penetration testing, investigating and resolving issues identified. Lastly, you’ll input into the IT strategy from a security perspective.
To be considered for the role, talk to us about your experience of Cyber Security monitoring and network security, including network monitoring performance. You should have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware alongside Windows Server 2016/2019. Ideally you will have previous experience with SIEM and service desk toolsets. We’d like you to have a working knowledge of Cyber Essentials and ICT security architectures and common designs for mitigation information security risks, with the passion to keep up to date with the latest security technology developments. You should have familiarity with TCP/IP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols alongside O365 and Azure administration. Lastly, talk to us about your experience of investigating network logs for anomalies in order to identify suspicious behaviour.
Knowledge of Sophos UTM, FortiGate, Sophos Central, AV, Meraki switching, HP Switching, VMware, Linux, VOIP phone Systems, MAC Environments, DEP.
Experience using advanced tools to determine vulnerabilities.
Experience of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, Firewalls, Group Policy.
Experience working with O365, Azure Administration.
