IT Security Lead. Birmingham (remote working). Fixed Term Contract (6 months) £ Competitive.

Your new company
You will be working for a government body based in Birmingham (remote working) as an IT Security Lead. The purpose of the role will be:

To ensure the security of the Commission by implementing the highest priority recommendations identified in a recent Security Maturity Assessment conducted for the Commission.

  • Development of the Commission’s IT Cybersecurity Strategy.
    • Define roles required to deliver the strategy
  • Develop a Security Operations Centre (SOC) with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
    • Review existing alerts/monitoring
    • Suggest/introduce new tools
  • Development of a User Cyber Awareness and Training Programme.
    • Review existing programme
    • Suggest new training material and content
  • Development IT security policies library.
    • Review existing policies
    • Create new policies where gaps are identified
  • Develop IT Risk Register
    • Provide accurate risk assessments for identified and mitigated IT security risks

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Awareness of developments in Cyber Security
  • Understanding of cybercrime and learning from external threats
  • Understanding of applicable UK law and regulations in relation to IT Security
  • Excellent technical knowledge of enterprise level computing
    • MS Admin Centres
    • Mobile devices
    • Office 365
    • Desktops (Windows 10)
