We are currently seeking a Global Trade Manager to join our business in Crawley, UK.

As the IMS business supports international customers, it is involved in the many aspects of import, export and global trade requirements under the governance of Raytheon Technologies, Collins Aerospace and country specific international trade regulations. The role of the Global Trade Specialist is critical to the business, ensuring that both regulatory compliance and company policies are being adhered to.

Summary of Role:
The Global Trade Manager is responsible for global trade compliance and customs compliance for the IMS business in the EMEA region. The role involves the day-to-day management of people, import and export transactions and the coordination of global trade policies, procedures, and global trade initiatives for the business. The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:

Responsibility for and oversight of a staff of 2 direct reports. The staff consists of GT Specialists who execute physical shipments and logistics. As a people-leader, the Global Trade Manager (GT Manager) will supervise, support, and develop the staff. This is a critical part of the role as human resources are our most valued resources.
Subject-Matter Expert:
Responsibility for acting as a subject-matter expert for the business. A critical part of the role is to develop rapport with business leaders and keep the business informed of GT process and procedures. This includes training and instruction in small or large groups.

GT Management:
Responsible for all aspects of the global trade program. A critical part of the role is global trade policy and procedure implementation which involves the flow down and implementation of Collins GT procedures among the IMS business. The duties will also include export classification activities, licence and authorization management, and sanctions and embargo compliance.

Responsibility for logistics of shipments in the APAC region. This includes working with and managing freight forwarders and other logistics service providers. The GT Manager will work with business leaders to understand their shipping needs and plan accordingly.

Reporting Structure:
The role reports to the Associate Director, Global Trade for the IMS business.


The following experience is preferred but not essential. Candidates who can demonstrate experience and transferrable skills will be considered:

  • Experience in a customs or international trade compliance related role
  • Experience of United States, United Kingdom, and other EMEA export regulations
  • Experience in logistics management
  • Project or program management experience
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Experience of interpreting and managing policies and procedures
  • Developing and implementing standard work
  • Experience in coordination of import activity

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Proactive, responsive, self-motivated, receptive to change.
  • Works well under pressure and is able to prioritize workload.
  • Attention to detail and strong record management competency.
  • Strong IT experience including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)


  • Relevant third level qualification required
