Collins Aerospace, part of Raytheon Technologies, is on the lookout for an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join our small team, reporting to the workforce & EH&S Manager. The role is primarily to focus on environmental programs, with some support to the Health and Safety team.

You will support the Actuation Systems business in ensuring that the Environmental Management system, legal requirements, policies and procedures are adhered to.

Your Responsibilities

  • Maintain ISO 14001 certification for the site
  • Manage site environmental legal compliance (identify non-conformance)
  • Manage a number of operating Permits (Part A and Part B)
  • Experience with Energy/Waste/Water data management
  • Monthly reporting of the sites Environmental metrics requirements
  • Identify environmental reduction projects to meet Collins reduction metrics
  • Maintaining and updating the central reporting system
  • Manage site solvent inventory and surface cleaning permit
  • Complete packaging regulation submissions
  • Complete annual reporting requirements for permits (PI, improvement conditions etc.)
  • Manage Collins Best Management Practices (BMP) and maintain the 5 year reduction plan
  • Maintain and improve an effective Environmental management system
  • Audit and update environmental procedures
  • Complete external and internal EHS audits (compliance audits, program evaluation)
  • provide information, training and instruction and advice to operational management and employees
  • Guide and mentor in trouble shooting, resolving problems and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Promoting a culture that supports environmental best practice in the workplace.

Experience and Skills

  • NEBOSH certificate (preferable)
  • Bachelor degree in relevant environmental discipline
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • Experience of working within a dynamic manufacturing environment (desirable)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team essential
  • Excellent project management skills
