Salary: circa £50,000

The Data Engineering Application Lead will provide support throughout the development & IT Change community with a focus on becoming an SME gaining additional knowledge of the wider technical landscape. The role will be critical in ensuring consistency across developments in the ETL/Warehousing/BI space acting as a control and governance point supporting and influencing colleagues.

A bit about the job:

Within this role you will be responsible for ETL design and development ensuring ETL processes are coherent, efficient and support the strategy for data architecture within Aviva. Managing a small team of developers to ensure that the delivery of the project meets the requirements.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Strong technical consultancy experience across ETL/Data Warehouse/BI landscape
• Experienced in the use of ETL applications and advantageous to have used the Informatica suite of products (Power Centre, BDM, Power Exchange etc)
• Awareness of scripting languages such as Scala and Python and uses within the context of data transfer/manipulation
• Experience of leading and mentoring ETL (Informatica) development teams across the project development lifecycle
• Ability to positively challenge existing and proposed solutions and present designs and ideas in a clear, concise way

What you’ll get for this role:

• National starting salary circa £50,000, depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
