Your new role
Working in the Secure Development Tools design and delivery team you’ll focus on solution design within a big data platform engineering environment. You’ll use standard and innovative design patterns and methodologies, owning sub-component designs end to end, including non-functional design. You’ll work closely with software engineers in building your solutions and also lead designers in building the complete end-to-end solution.
You will deliver and support innovative big-data-based security products to and for our customers and utilise your technical knowledge, and expertise in your field to help develop best-in-class products and services. You may need to oversee the work of others in ensuring the delivery of quality and robust solutions.
You’ll need to be capable of quickly understanding new technologies and establishing best practice for their use. You will create, lead and implement significant technical solutions that could impact internally and/or externally. Delivering cutting-edge cyber-defence systems into Cyber Security Platform portfolio, protecting network and systems as well as customer networks. You will delight in continuously improving the skills, capabilities and working processes of yourself and others within your team. You will get to make a significant contribution to and lead on proof-of-concept projects which will allow you to be hands on with prototyping whilst setting the direction on software design across a wide array of security and big data tools.
What you’ll need to succeed
Platform/Software solution design experience
Prior software engineering experience (e.g. application design, big data design, integration design)
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. GCP, AWS)
Good communication skills
Cyber security domain knowledge
Understanding of networks
Programming skills and aptitude
Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g. Kafka, Spark, HDFS)
