The Summer Internship programme aims to provide an environment that supports the acquisition of knowledge and experience from industry best practices and importantly, provide roles allowing the application of that understanding through practical experience in day-to-day roles. You will be part of our Future Talent Community and be assigned a Career Manager, who will support and guide you throughout your career with us. All of this is designed to complement your career development, fuel your ambition, and give depth to your training and career.
We are looking for students to work on developing innovative mission critical technology and products for our customers. Applications include high performance networking, space systems, software radios and underwater systems.
You will be part of a project team who will coach you on the day to day skills required to work closely with our customers. You might be designing RF/digital electronics or developing software/firmware targeted at a wide range of devices (e.g. FPGAs, ARM processors, GPUs, microcontrollers). You could be involved in designing signal processing algorithms or researching new and exciting areas of science and technology.
You will be part of our Future Talent community, which organises training, networking and social events to get involved with. We will support you with a career mentor who will guide you throughout your Internship.
Who are we looking for?
We have several engineering focused roles which will suit people who are enthusiasts for technology, enjoy making things and understanding how they work.
We also have science focused roles where we are looking for people with a strong science background, especially in electromagnetics, optics, machine learning and applied mathematics.
We expect great things of our Summer Interns. In return, you can expect a £19,500 annual salary (pro-rota) and 5.5 days of holiday and product & service discounts.
- You will need to be currently studying towards a 2:1 or above, with an Engineering or Physics background, but we would also welcome applications from Mathematicians looking to apply their knowledge
- Interest in science and technology
- Highly motivated and able to learn quickly
- Only those with the permanent and unrestricted right to live and work in the UK can be considered for a position within BAE Systems Applied Intelligence. At BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, we pride ourselves in being a leader in the cyber defence industry, and Government contracts are an area we have many decades of experience in. Our Government business unit houses four of our critical client groups: UK National Security, Global National Security, defence and central government. Government and key infrastructure networks are critical targets to defend as the effects of these networks being breached can be devastating.
